Hospice Care

Living with a life-limiting illness can be overwhelming—but you don’t have to face it alone. The hospice level of care focuses on comfort, dignity, and support when a cure is no longer possible. Our compassionate team helps manage pain and symptoms while adding quality to each day, so patients and families can focus on what matters most.

Recognizing that death is an inherent aspect of life, we are dedicated to upholding the dignity of our patients in accordance with their personal values and wishes as they navigate their end-of-life journey within our community.

Volunteer Program

Volunteering with Advanced Hospice is sure to be a most rewarding experience! But don't take our word for it...here's what our volunteers have to say -

Many years ago, I attended a workshop that was focused on the “Ministry of Presence.”  In those short two hours I learned the importance of being there for others.  The focus point was that we are eyes to see, ears to hear and hands to care.  I’m not clinically trained, but I have the gift of time to share with others.  Sometimes just sitting with someone, holding their hand, or listening to their stories is the greatest gift.  By being present, it shows those I visit that their life still matters – every second of it.  ~ Betty J., Hospice Volunteer since 06/23

I think what I have learned most since becoming a hospice volunteer is that hospice isn’t about the end; it’s about making each remaining day as “rich” as possible. We know people on hospice may be considered to have limited time.  As a hospice volunteer, I feel that it is my role to help my patients make the most of each day. ~ Sal R, Hospice Volunteer since 01/24

Before applying to be a hospice volunteer I had to consider if it was something I could emotionally handle.  But then I put the focus on the patient, and not what I needed.  I imagined myself being the patient and considered how isolated they could possibly feel – especially if spending time alone.  I would tell anyone who asks, that it has been the most rewarding experience of my life – and truly time well spent. – Bill L, Hospice Volunteer since 02/22
