Couples who Exercise Together Stay Together!

Looking for something fun to do with your significant other during these COVID times? Why not try exercising together?! When you are trying to balance a busy work schedule, make a healthy dinner, volunteer, take care of kids, and so much more, it can be hard to find time to connect with your significant other. Carving out a specific time to connect with your spouse can make all the difference in your relationship and then if you add in the bonus of endorphins it's a win-win situation!

Studies show many benefits to couples who make a routine exercise program together. We all know that exercise produces endorphins, the “happy” hormone. This hormone release with your partner brings happiness to the relationship. According to Psychology Today, exercising with a partner creates a feeling of bonding and allows the couple to feel more emotionally attuned to one another. A plan to work out together also ensures accountability and increases the likelihood that one may reach their fitness goals. Feeling as though your partner values physical help can encourage you to prioritize it as well.

A study published in JAMA internal medicine showed that a person was more likely to maintain a positive change if their partner made the same change. So, make a plan to sweat together; you’ll LOVE the benefits!
